Medical recruitment agencies hold the NHS to ransom, with some Trusts able to afford higher rates than others, thereby the difficulty in covering medical staffing gaps is not equally shared. A nationwide cap on the hourly rate allowed to be paid would improve this.

One of the main issues we have as a small Trust is technology barriers to link with other Trusts. If every NHS Trust had one and the same approved PAS system, it would save billions and ensure patients records could be accessed across England. Doctors would be familiar with the system and not need retraining each time they rotated. MDTs would be smoother. Better outcomes for patients.
