Here is an idea...Ban the current 'Dickensian workhouse hours' of the mandatory 12.5hr shifts for nursing staff (who by they way never ever leave on time) to the humane self-rostering system of the 21st Century.

The majority of nursing staff are middle-aged, with the inevitable wear and tear on the body that comes with it. For the sake of providing quality care and experience for service users, and for the health and well-being of middle-aged healthcare professionals, implement self - rostering systems/software for the whole of the NHS. The outcome would revolutionise the staffing shortage in the NHS by showing that the  NHS is a modern forward thinking employer, which cares for its staff.
