Training

Yes very much

How does your employer help you to develop your skills or career?

Yes

What would you like to happen to enable you to develop your skills and career more?

over the last few years training costs have risen quite sharply in the social care sector espescially the QCF Level 2 and 3. and also  the local authortity who we use have increased there costs as well . Care has never been the best paying carear but to encourage people to stay we need to give better pay going forward and  access to training

It is great that you are receiving training. Has the increase in cost made it quite difficult for others to get training?

The increase in costs has a bigger impact on the company financially. the local council used to give us free training but now charges and that increases every year they do it at a discounted rate. The biggest one is the CQF training that has increased quite a lot the last 2 years .

Free training to then having to budget for training can be a barrier. Has the training budget stayed the same?

No as cost on training increases yearly and we need the training for our roles

Good to hear the training budget hasn't been reduced. Some areas have said the budget for training has been cut which does cause issues. What training would you recommend to anyone new to the sector?

Training is important especially in the care sector so we have to do training. If someone is new the have to do the care Certificate also first Aid and Manual handling and eventually doing the CQF Qualification
