Talk Health and Care

#WeAreNHS

We need a forum to allow everyone's views to be respected. Representatives from different areas to put forward ideas for discussion but not to be held at difficult times. These could be virtual forums. One person as rep on bimonthly report to Board. It is always same people who are given voice and appear to be valued. The roles must be rotated but do have to be those with interest.

What would you like to happen to make you feel more included and valued at work?

Our Trust has regular meet the exec sessions held in the coffee shops on site. However, a lot of people have become cynical that their voice will be heard and things acted upon so they don't go.  It would be asking if the Board were able to spend time in some of the "non-sexy" areas to see what the mood is really like and show interest in these individuals. It isn't only wards.

Thank you for posting your idea. Ensuring that frontline health and care staff have a say in the decisions that affect them and their ability to provide the highest quality care is at the heart of what I wanted to achieve when I launched this website earlier in the month.

I would encourage all health and care organisations to listen to and learn from their staff in the way your idea describes. How would you like your employer to seek your views?

You might be aware that NHS Improvement launched an Improvement Hub -https://improvement.nhs.uk/improvement-hub/ - to allow people working in the NHS to share their ideas for improving services. I appreciate that this specific initiative doesn’t cover adult social care, but I’d be interested in your views about how we could build on this idea.
