Internal Experience based meaningful progression

Many staff in lower grades with a wealth of experience are blocked from progression as there is no funding available.  Many staff are unable to leave work and undertake a 3 year degree due to other financial commitments.  The NHS should have an internal progression system to keep dedicated staff and improve patient care.

How does your employer help you to develop your skills or career?

They don't!  I have recently asked for support by my trust to allow my permanent partner to mentor me and sign off clinical skills at zero cost to the trust and was told no! 

What would you like to happen to enable you to develop your skills and career more?

A dedicated internal progression system to keep dedicated staff from having to leave the NHS to progress

The NHS is pretty dreadful at long term training/education, especially when it comes to younger clinical professionals.
